Putting right people in right places -- the timeless management challenge.  Here lately, I've heard business leaders lament this age-old issue with a new twist: Where is all the great new talent, and how do I get them to work for me?

A couple of tips:

1. What kind of workplace environment are you creating? Make sure your corporate culture is authentic and appealing, and younger team members have a chance to make a real contribution.

2. Teach. Mentor a junior staffer if for no other reason than someone surely mentored you. Take some time to share your experiences with a young professional. But...

3. Be willing to learn from them, too. You'll be amazed at what these future leaders can teach you about technology, networking and work/life balance - if you let them, that is.

4. Invest in the Northwest Arkansas Young Professionals. We've supported them from the beginning, and allowed our younger teammates to get involved as well. Do the same, and you may be the one giving all of us advice.
